Meet the Team

Hi there!  I'm so happy to "meet" you.  I am the Executive Director of Heritage Service Dogs, the voice on the other end of the telephone and the person behind the computer when you send an email.  I spend every day with the dogs from the moment they are born until they go to their new homes.  I am happiest when I'm covered in doggie kisses and everywhere I go there are multiple dogs trailing after me.   Helping these amazing dogs prepare for a life of service work is an incredible privilege that I don't take for granted.  

Ever since I was a small child I've been drawn to working with animals, and due to my sister's medical issues, I was particularly fascinated by as many stories about service animals that I could get my hands on.  It's the main reason I trained in Animal Science over 20 years ago!  I'm so excited to be fulfilling my dream of working with and helping to provide service dogs to the people who need them most.  

Randy and his late wife Barb are the founders of HSD.  With many years of human medical experience along with Barb's animal medicine training, they made an amazing team.  Randy also grew up breeding and training dogs with his family so he came into this with a lot of knowledge and expertise.  Although Randy is now retired, he is busier than ever including still being involved in an advisory role with HSD and helping out whenever an extra pair of hands is needed.  Randy knows most of the dogs and handlers on sight and has an endless supply of amazing stories and testimonies to share about these amazing dogs!
